SpaceX, privatna kompanija milijardera Elona Muska, danas je lansirala s Floride dvojicu američkih astronauta u orbitu, što je prvo polijetanje Amerikanaca s američkog tla u zadnjih devet godina. 

Ovo je i prvi put da Amerikance u svemir nose komercijalne svemirske letjelice, u vlasništvu privatnih kompanija koje njima i upravljaju.

Zbog olujnog nevremena u blizini svemirskog centra Kennedy u Cape Canaveralu lansiranje je u srijedu odgođeno 17 minuta prije leta.

Raketa Falcon 9 je poletjela u 15 sati i 22 minute po lokalnom vremenu (21 sat i 22 minute po hrvatskom vremenu).

Let do Međunarodne svemirske postaje trajat će 19 sati.
